Default Conditional statement when coping records from one table to another

I am using kettle (first time user - awesome application) to copy records from one table to another (on different servers) that have a different table structure. In the source table i have a field called "Company". as the system processes each row i would like it to check that "Company" field to see if its blank and if it is set a varaible called IsResidential equal to Y. i would then like to have that variable inserted into the target table.

currently i have a transformation with 3 hops; GET ORDER ->MAPPING->WRITE ORDERS.

how would i do a condiational statement to check the source field and then save the result into the target? would i use Modified Javascript value?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks
    richard
