  1. #1

    Default Crash problem

    i made a transformation

all the steps are correct, everything is ok

but when i run the trans. it crashes

also when i try a preview on the TableInput step it crashes

does it normal that Spoon crash down without a log?
is not possible to dont make it crash?

    thanks
    tony

lol ... little information there... change the spoon.bat (when on windows):
    - replace javaw in one of the last lines by java
    - put a pause at the end
    - Run again, you should see a stacktrace.

What probably is happening, but that's just a hunch, is that you're using ODBC and the crash you have is inside of the ODBC driver, we've seen it before

hm.... fact is that when i make the PREVIEW in the Table Input Step there is no crash, and all the records are in output

but when i lauch the Transformation in Preview Mode it crash

that's why i dont think it's the ODBC driver

Your preview works as the problem lies in the table output, and as expected this is an ODBC-JDBC problem.

What I do notice is that while you run run a 1.6 your java home directory still points to 1.5, I would try first to fix that. If that doesn't work possibly downgrade to using JDK 1.5 .

This is not a problem in PDI/Kettle, this is a "driver" problem.

    Default 1.6

    fixed this

    now it points to 1.6

so now you think i got to downgrade to 1.5?

Well, the crash is inside a DLL provided by your database vendor. So a downgrade of your JDK may or may not work, but I would not bet on it. The software that is buggy is installed in "c:\g2z_cln\" and you probably should try to get an update for that one.

However, if you are using AcuXDBC from AcuCorp, then they also provide a real JDBC driver. Maybe you should try that one instead of the "known-to-be-problematic" ODBC-JDBC bridge.
