Default Connecting to an Oracle RDB??

I would like to use Kettle to migrate data between an Oracle RDB database and an Oracle 10g database. Does anyone have any experience using Kettle to connect to an Oracle RDB?

I really don't know where to start. Do you use the Oracle RDB connection type? If so, what access method did you use to connect to the RDB?

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

Yes, you use the "Oracle RDB" connection type.
Then you simply specify the hostname (or IP address), the database name, a username and a password.
I think that should be enough to connect to the database.

    Default Oracle RDB

    Hi

We are trying to connect to an Oracle RDB instance. We have specified all the necessary items. But it throws out a Data Source Name not found error. Should we have to download any RDB drivers for Oracle?

    regards,

The way we handled connecting to an Oracle RDB was to actually connect to an Oracle 10g database that was linked to the RDB database. I don't have all the details on this, but we never did use the Oracle RDB connection type.
