Default Problem of Oracle 8i nvarchar

    Hi Hi

Im going to copy row data from Oracle 9i(Source) to Oracle 8i(Target),
but some errors occur with data type!
It seems to show that Kettle cant support inserting data into a target field with nvarchar type.
How can I solve this problem by exploiting any functionality Kettle can provide?

    Thanks for replying me!!

    Regards,
    Jeff

One of the only things I don't like about oracle... but necessary evil... character set conversions. I've had them before and I doubt you're going to be able to make it work short term.

nvarchar changed extensively going from 8i to 9i and that's probably one of your problems. Try mimicking the same when both are 9i.

Also search for the ORA error on the internet... you'll find lots of questions about it, and little answers.

    Regards,
    Sven
