    Default Adding Users

    Hi,

    I'm just playing around with Pentaho 1.6GA (demo) these days. I would like to know whether I can add new users to the system.

    Regards,
    Hiranya

    Hi,

    hae a look at: http://wiki.pentaho.org/display/Pent...Access+Objects

    The demo uses the memory implementation of the security. You should be able to add users in:

    applicationContext-acegi-security-memory.xml

    Code:
    <bean id="userMap" class="java.lang.String">
      <constructor-arg type="java.lang.String">
        <value>
        <![CDATA[
        joe=password,ROLE_ADMIN,ROLE_CEO,ROLE_AUTHENTICATED
        suzy=password,ROLE_CTO,ROLE_IS,ROLE_AUTHENTICATED
        pat=password,ROLE_DEV,ROLE_AUTHENTICATED
        tiffany=password,ROLE_DEV,ROLE_DEVMGR,ROLE_AUTHENTICATED
        admin=secret,ROLE_ADMIN,ROLE_AUTHENTICATED
        ]]>
        </value>
      </constructor-arg>
    </bean>

    In addition to doing this if you have an LDAP server you can configure Pentaho to use that to obtain your lists of users and groups. For more information on this see: http://wiki.pentaho.org/display/Pent...P+Security+DAO

    Default I don't think the users you add will be in the drop down

    I think if you add users to this file:

    applicationContext-acegi-security-memory.xml

    They won't show up in the prepolated drop down of users, but the user does exist. You can log in with the U/P you configured.

    Yeah for the list box you need to edit the Login JSP
    This is a signature.... everyone gets it.
