Thread: Job Execution monitoring

    Default Job Execution monitoring

    Hi all,
I have a Kettle job which executes three transformations (T1, T2, T3). the job is working well, now i would like to check after each transformation if it has been executed well or no, in the last case an email notification should be sent to me. I see that there is a mail job entry and jave script (?) entry. but I don't know how to use the jave script (?) to check the returned value and check if the previous job entry succeeded or no.

I want to execute T1 if it's ok execute T2 else send an email and exit, and so on....

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Sidi,
When you cascade two entries :
    Start -- T1--T2
If the hop between T1 and T2 is green , it mean : run T2 if T1 run successfully.
If the hop is read, it mean run T2 if T1 fail
If the hop is black, it mean run T2 no matter T1 run result.

    Thanks for the reply,
My hopes are green so "run T2 if T1 run successfully". Now how to send an email if T1 fails or T2 fails (at least on Transformation has failed)?

    Thanks in advance!

    Simple
Drop an email job entry in the canevas and link it to T1 entry (hop should be red).
