    Default specifying a directory as a kettle variable in windows

    I struggled a bit to get the my transformations working using a kettle variable for file locations on windows.
    It turned out that the directories must be specified using TWO backslashes in stead of ONE.
    (in the kettle.properties file)

    After that, it worked perfectly.

    Maybe this problem/solution is obvious to all others but me, but I just thougt I'd share this.

    #does not work

    files_directory =C:\files
    files_archive_directory=C:\files\archive

    # does work
    files_directory =C:\\files
    files_archive_directory=C:\\files\\archive

    Single forward slashes (/) should also work.
