Does anyone know of a way that I can merge multiple XML fields into one blob for storage into a MySQL database? I am reading an XML file created with MS Infopath. Infopath allows you to have a rich text box which when stored as XML consists of a top level tag with various tags and data within it. Those tags may consist of DIVs, breaks, and so on. An example is:
<div xmlns="">"Show me, Show me, Show me how you do that trick<br/> The one that makes me scream" she said<br/>"The one that makes me laugh" she said<br/>And threw her arms around my neck<br/>"Show me how you do it<br/>And I promise you I promise that<br/>I'll run away with you<br/>I'll run away with you"</div>
<div xmlns=""> </div>
<div xmlns="">Spinning on that dizzy edge<br/>I kissed her face and kissed her head<br/>And dreamed of all the different ways I had<br/>To make her glow<br/>"Why are you so far away?" she said<br/>"Why won't you ever know that I'm in love with you"<br/>"That I'm in love with you"</div>
<div xmlns="">--"The Cure"</div>
So you see, I'd like to capture everything between the <my:Narrative> begin and end tags as one big blob and put it into a single blob database field. By the way I'm using the XML Input step to read the data from the InfoPath file. The rest of my transformation works great - this is a fantastic tool.
