Default PDI 3.0.1 - Insert/Update: Null Pointer Exception

    Hi all,
I upgraded PDI to 3.0.1 and converted the repository without problems.
Lounching transformations with Insert/Update step, working well under the old 2.5.1 release, I get a Null Pointer Exception.
I attached an example of the transtormation, and the execution LOG.
I get this behavour with any transformation containing Insert/Update step, and always on thet step.

I execute PDI on Windows XP, with J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 11.

Can anybody tell me if this is due to a migration error?
    And What's the problem?

    thank you for any sggestions

Run verify on your transformation, looking at the code it seems you misnamed a field somehow.

    I did it.
Verify doesn't give any warning, nor errors.

    - Give us an excel input file to play with. and which still exhibits the problem at your side.

    - Make a copy of your transformation and redo the insert/update step.

    Hi Sven,
    here's the Excel file.
In the transformation I attached I already had redone the Insert/Update step.

I checked it again, I didn't find any mistyped field or anything like that.

But the really strange thing is that this transformation is running in production environment, in 2.5.1 release, and worked in test environment before the release upgrade.

The other strange thing is that I tried to run 5 transformations (all working before the update) ad I face always with the same problem.
That's why I was thinking about a database conversion problem....

Thank you very much for helping me.

I should have been more specific... an xls which is of the type you use for the Excel input step in the transformation.

You hit a real "bug"... please file a JIRA bug tracker for it.

The problem is that you use dataora twice and the current step gets confused about that causing the error. It's not a real error but there should probably be a warning if you do this.

    Regards,
    Sven

    Hi Sven,
you're right. All the transformations for wich I got this exception have the same situation: the double use of a stream field in the table fields of the Insert/update step.

So WE could insert a bug.
I say WE, because I have no idea about how to do it (Where to do it, the standards of bugs declaration and so on...)

Do you want to do it for me and tell me what and how you did it?

Why not take a look at the FAQ?
