Thread: xml input get felds changes case of field

  1. #1

Default xml input get felds changes case of field

My xml fields are all resolutely named in java variable convention style
    siteCode etc
but the xmlInput stage seems to want to change them to
SiteCode when I use the get fields button

and then it manages to find them with the first letter capitalised.

But this is odd because - well - xml is supposed to be case sensitive, isn't it?

Give us an example of your input XML file.

Capitalization is done on purpose (it is in the code)

is the capitalisation of the 2nd letter of the parent field on purpose? DEpot
    It looks a bit odd.
I'm not quite sure about the usefulness of appending the number on the end of each field. I can see how it might sometimes help distinguish with multiple streams but if you've only got the one set of locations and you just want to push them through to a database, for example, you have to change all the field names to strip it off.

The E of DEpot was put back to original case (in v3.1), that was a bug. For the numbers... I guess it has something to do with positions, but the user guide is a bit skimpy on it.

In v3.1 I would use the xml xpath step instead of xml input
