Thread: a kind of normalization of set of fields: how to?

Default a kind of normalization of set of fields: how to?

This is the transformation I have to make:

    source table records example:

key fields record 1 | set of fields A | set of fields B | set of fields C | null fields
key fields record 2 | set of fields A | null fields
key fields record 3 | set of fields A | set of fields B | null fields
key fields record 4 | set of fields A | null fields
key fields record 5 | set of fields A | set of fields B | set of fields C | null fields

    output table records example:

key fields record 1 | set of fields A
key fields record 1 | set of fields B
key fields record 1 | set of fields C
key fields record 2 | set of fields A
key fields record 3 | set of fields A
key fields record 3 | set of fields B
key fields record 4 | set of fields A
key fields record 5 | set of fields A
key fields record 5 | set of fields B
key fields record 5 | set of fields C

set of fields A, B, C have the same number and type of fields (they are a "repeated" set of fields) and null values have to be wasted.

Actually I can do this trasformation using a lot of hops and steps, and using a lot of disk space and computer effort.

Is there a way to make this transformation flow more efficient? Sounds like a kind of normalization of set of fields

    toni

Why can't you use our "Row Normaliser" step?
That's what it was made for.
