Dear friends,

As part of PDI-760 (http://jira.pentaho.org/browse/PDI-760) I've been doing
some research as the reason why it is slow to switch between jobs and
transformations. (about one second) In the end, where it comes down to is
that the expand-bar widget used is pretty slow to populate and redraw.
I also noticed a lot of flickerings on the Windows platform.

As such, I'm trying now to get a similar view by using native simple widgets
like labels and move back to a tree for the core objects.

We needed room to put the "shared objects" into a separate tree anyway.

The view I'm looking at right now is this one:

The goal remains to spend as little screen real-estate as possible while
keeping functionality simple and effective.

I'll be committing a patch to Spoon today, please let me know how you like or
hate this new look.

All the best,

Matt
