Question clause where in a cube ?

    Hello,

Is it possible to add a WHERE clause in a cube to give an access on a dimension with a condition?

    Exemple:
I have a table "customer" with all customers of my company and I want to create a dimension "customer from paris".

    Thanks,

    Chris

Do you have a 'region' dimension? If so, you could simple use 'WHERE [region].[paris]' or something of the sort (check http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../ms144785.aspx)

Otherwise, you could create a named set. Take a look at http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms145487.aspx

    Cheers!

    Thank you for your answer.

The problem to limit the access of my dimension in the MDX query is that everybody can modify the query and delete the WHERE clause. (I think of the button MDX in the BI application of Pentaho)

I see. What about a named set in the cube schema?
