    Default PDI-3.1.0 - first milestone release available

    Dear Kettle fans,

    The first milestone release of the new and improved Kettle 3.1.0 is out.

    You can download from Sourceforge over here.

    We have been working hard on this release with a complete team of developers and the change log is extensive.
    Over 240 bug fixes, improvements and new features are in 3.1.0-M1.

    All that being said, please remember that a milestone release is essentially a development version and not suitable for production use.

    Hi Matt,

    testing the milestone release.
    I'm trying to extract tables from a db2 database, but i get the following error: Unable to prepare for execution of the transformation. When testing the connection, with the test-button, al seems fine.
    In other versions (3.0.1 and 3.0.2) the same code works fine.

    We do use different drivers to approach the db2 database. db2jcc.jar + 2 license files: db2jcc_license_cisuz.jar and db2jacc_license_cu.jar.

    I obviously have no idea Rob. I don't think we changed the DB2 JDBC drivers or did anything else out of the ordinary in that area.
    As always, filing a JIRA case with more information is the absolute minimum :-)

    Thumbs up Working great!

    I have been using 3.1.0-M1 all day, and everything has gone very smoothly so far. My only question would be whether there are any backwards-incompatible changes being made to my transformations and jobs behind the scenes that will break it for 3.0.2 (which is still in use on the production server)?

    No backward compatibility issues as we are using the exact same engine. In fact we still implement fixes to make it more compatible with 2.5. :-)
