Thread: Sub-tranformation hangs with 2 sub-transforms in a row

    Default Sub-tranformation hangs with 2 sub-transforms in a row

    I have a transformation A calling a subtransformation B twice in a row (with different inputs)

    B Subtransform 1 -> B Subtransform 2

    When this runs, B1 above completes, but it seems to hang on B2, runs, does not complete, no rows are processed. When I insert a Dummy step in between the two tranforms, like this:

    B Subtransform 1 -> Dummy -> B Subtransform 2

    It cruises right through. No issues. Any one else see this behavior? Is the Dummy step the only work-around? I don't like dummies in my transforms.

    Hi Kevin,

    You should know better than that. If you have a problem, file a bug report mentioning versions and a small sample application.

    All the best,

    Thanks. I wanted to see if this was just user error, me not understanding something about it before I posted a case.

    A JIRA case helps as a checklist : what situation, what transformation, what version of kettle, etc, etc.
