  1. #1

    Default Java error

    I am using mysql 4.x, olap4j, mondrian 3.3, JDK 1.5 update 14 on Eclipse
    I have included the jar files of jdbc drivers for mysql, mondrian,olap4j . in the classpath.
    I have copied the sample program from olpa4j readme.txt file

    I get the error
    The method getConnection(String, CatalogLocator) in the type DriverManager is not applicable for the arguments (String)
    The program has been ditto copied from the readme.txt file .
    I dont know why the sample program itself is not running .
    Another problem is the "unwrap" function in that program is not recognized .
    if someone knows give me a perfect program which works

    Hi,

    test this programm to get a connection from a java application to mondrian:

    Class.forName("mondrian.olap4j.MondrianOlap4jDriver");
    OlapConnection connection = (OlapConnection) DriverManager.getConnection( "jdbc:mondrian:Jdbc=jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/database?user=user;password=password" + "JdbcDrivers=com.mysql.jdbc.Driver;"
    +"Catalog=http://192.168.0.224:8080/queries/Cube.xml;");

    In the connectionString you must replace the user, password and the urls with your own data.
    Further you must configure a virtual path in your Tomcat server to get access to the schema file which is configured over the Catalog attribute of the connectionString (red marked).

    Best regards
    cakbulut
