    Default User guide for waqr...

    Hi,

Is there a user guide for the waqr?

If so is it available anywhere? If not i'll have to create one! only basic, but we need something to deliver.

    Thanks,
    Dan

Considering the word on the street is its not really yet ready for general day to day usage(although its certainly heading in that direction), I'd be surprised if the is a vast amount of information.

Eh? since when? It's now in it's second full release - and from what i've seen it works well. Sure the metadata has some restrictions but they are work - aroundable.

What exactly gave you that word on the street impression?

Well the word on the street has come from the discussions we've been having in ##pentaho but I'll reprase not to upset any devs, lets just say its missing a few important features. Things like a Limit function, ability to add user input(for things like bursting). Or have I missed something here?

Ah ok yes they are missing. I thought it was an implication on the stability of what already exists, rather than the lacking feature set. Outer joins in the metadata layer are also a huge hole.

The problem is unless people use it and report the missing features then how are pentaho to guess what is needed? Well they will do that - guess, and then end up getting it wrong. So anyway for others reading this dont get put off by those comments, try it and then feedback

    Default Word on the street

Documentation for Adhoc Reporting (a.k.a. WAQR) can be found at:

    Regarding bugg_tb's off-topic post:

I don't know about the word on the street, and i wouldnt put much stock in it.

The word from the Pentaho development team is that Adhoc Reporting's initial release is available and usable.

In that case I apologise and I'll ignore all hearsay from now on
