Publish a static BIRT report in Pentaho

Hello everyone, I need to publish in Pentaho platform a static report created through Birt (Business Intelligence Report Tools) which is a reporting system integrated with java through eclipse.

The Birt generates 2 files:
report.rptdesign
report.rptconfig

I've investigated a bit and I can do that by creating an .xaction file pointed to the structure of the report through the Pentaho Design Studio but in reality I have no clear picture of how to do it.

The easiest way:
Install the pentaho demo, and look at the report examples. You can use them as a start point.
The xactions are made with Pentaho Design Studio
