I implemented a transformation to maintain a dimension table. As he documentation states that the dimension update/lookup component allows to maintain it according to the proposal made by R. Kimball, I am wondering where the audit information and current record marker have gone.

I did not see them with the other technical fields like validity dates nor can I include them into the fields to be updated, as they will be compared against the current entries. As the audit ID is always new, this will result in all entries being updated.
My intention was to update it only if the non business-key fields in the dimension are changed.

How do you handle your dimension updates?
Did I misunderstand the use of the component?
