Post Kettle Datasource to Pentaho Reports

    Pentaho Team,

Im trying to integrate multiple databases in Kettle. I want to use Pentaho to report the integrated data sources from kettle.

So my questions is simple. Does Pentaho Reporting solution support Kettle data source?

    Please reply the earliest !!!!

    Thanks & Regards

You can fire off a transformation from an xaction, but I don't think it returns a result set, so the short answer is no.

As far as I remember, the KettleComponent returns a IResultSet, so it is possible to feed the report via Kettle. The ResultSet returned is a 100% in-memory resultset, so dont overfeed it with too much data, or it may make a mess

The last Step of the transformation has to be a "Copy rows to result".

In the xaction you have to specify the name of that Step ("Transformation Step" textbox), and give a name to the result set ("Output name" textbox). This result set can be used later in a report.
