Default Possible bugs in "SQL File Output" PDI 3.1.0

    1- null converted to 'null'
2- string signs in the data remain the same. Usually databases accept '' , interpret double string signs as one inside the data.

    So it generates

    insert into table ( null_column, string_column)
    values ('null','a string' for insert')

    The correct syntaxt is

    insert into table ( null_column, string_column)
    values (null,'a string'' for insert')

    Any ideas?
Am I missing something or it's a bug?

Playing devil's advocate... following current conventions 1) should be an empty string probably instead of null or 'null'.

And 2) depends on the developer, but sounds reasonable.

    I tested 3.2.0.RC1.

    Now the result is :
    INSERT INTO test(null_column, string_column) VALUES (null,'a string' for insert');

Seems the problem with null is fixed. But the string sign remains the same.

It might not be a defect , but more like an enhancement to the step on how to handle special characters using sql output.

But to my understanding all databases may have this problem. If so , it makes this step defective and not useful in the present condition for all databases.

Farbod, the null problem along with a date serialization problem was fixed because someone filed a bug report for it.
Why don't you do the same.
