Default tips on how to start

    Hi,

I'm going to evaluate how to apply Kettle's approach of ETL processing
    on customizable mashup generation.
Hence I've downloaded the latest source code 3.2.0 (stable) from [1]
    into Eclipse 3.4.

I assumed that I could just run the project in debug mode as a Java
Application and go through the code to stop at the for me interesting
points. However, I couldn't compile the project. Do I need to download
    any other projects from SVN?

    Thanks,
    Bruno

    Hi!

I'm sorry, I can't help you here. I never tried this.
I se you already posted on the kettle dev google goup - that's good.
But i think the subject line of your mail is not that good. Most devs
will think you are one of the people that spam the group with 'pls
heelp...iz urgent' mails. Just change the line to something like:
'Error compiling kettle, msg is ...."

    hth,

    roland

I think the real issue is that you are posting a user question to a
developer forum. You do not need to compile source code to develop etl
    transformations.
Go to the Pentaho site and download the software.
