    Default Auto Repository backup

How can I backup my repository as xml-export automatically every day?
I'd like to setup a cronjob to perform this.
Is there a pan command I can use?

Note:I searched the forum history and didn't find anything.

    Thanks,
    JD

It's in the Pan user documentation:

    http://wiki.pentaho.com/display/EAI/...+Documentation

    pan ... -exprep=export-file.xml

    Default repository backup

    Thanks for the response Matt.
My repository is in a database, not on the local machine where I have pdi installed. How can I tell pan to export an xml file of a remote repository?

    Hi,

you have just to define the repository in the machine from which you are running Pan.
Ie you can define it via Spoon.
Launch spoon and define the repository (
file /root/.kettle/repositories.xml will be filled) and then use Pan with to point to the repository. (repository name is the same used in spoon).

The repository description ( /root/.kettle/repositories.xml ) must be local.

    Default repository backup

    Thanks, I figured it out.

    #cd $PENTAHOHOME
    #./pan.sh -user=admin -pass=Talendstinks -rep=Pentaho -exprep=/root/pentahorepositorybackup.xml

    Great.

Speaking of which, as the repository on a database, you can do a Db backup.
You have also a job entry if you want to backup specified folder,...
