Mibbit "Banned" by freenode

It has come to my attention that freenode, where the ##pentaho channel is located, has disabled access via Mibbit. Quite frankly that sucks, and so does their "webchat" to address this. Unfortunately the IRC ports are blocked at work and I have no other way to connect to the ##pentaho channel with the exception of webchat. Any suggestions?

whats wrong with http://webchat.freenode.net/ ?
some people use ssh tunnels etc. to a remote server/pc (at home) to come into irc.... there are workarounds for that

Webchat feels like I'm gone back to the stone age
