    Question How to configure "Publish to server" password

    Hello:

    I have searched for several days the forums, I have test every solution I've found... and it does not work. I am sure that I am doing something wrong, but I do not find what. That's what I've done:

    I'm decide to begin using as publishing password the word "pentaho". To do so, I have edited the publisher_config.xml file in several ways:

    - Using an MD5 hash (got using this site):

    <publisher-config>
    <publisher-password>57020ac2b121e840b63e5c7bc04594a8</publisher-password>
    </publisher-config>

    - Using the same MD5 hash, but with the word "MD5:":

    <publisher-config>
    <publisher-password>MD5:57020ac2b121e840b63e5c7bc04594a8</publisher-password>
    </publisher-config>

    - Without encription:

    <publisher-config>
    <publisher-password>pentaho</publisher-password>
    </publisher-config>

    I have also tried this 3 methods with the password "test" and with the password "password".

    Later, when I use Metadata editor, I click on "publish to server", and I use this parameters:

    Publish location: samples
    Web Publish URL:
    http://localhost:8080/pentaho/RepositoryFilePublisher
    Publish Password:
    pentaho (or test or password)
    Server Userid:
    admin
    Server password:
    password

    What I'm doing wrong?

    (Meanwhile, I'm configuring a new server, where I'm going to try this steps from scratch... Wish me luck)

    Thanks in advance.

    The new server installed from scratch has the same problem.

    No clues?

    The folder "samples" doesn´t exists in Pentaho-Solutions. Try with other folder.
    Hope this helps.

    Than you, Ángel, but no, it does not work. I've tried with "Steel Wheels" but I get the same error message:

    "Unable to save file (metadata.xmi) to server. Correct any server, id or password errors and try again"

    You must use the physical name of the folder, in pentaho solutions. Try with "steel-wheels".
    Hope this helps.

    Thanks again.

    Either your publish password, publish url, publish folder or username/password are incorrect.
    Is there any information in the logs (metadata editor or bi server)?

    I found nothing.

    I have search in \pentaho\*.log (and all the subfolders)

    Were should I look for? OR How do I activate the logs?

    Thanks

    I've got it!!!

    I simply deleted the biserver-ce folder, unpack it again, and add the password to the publisher_config.xml file without encripting it.

    Thanks you all
