Default Retrieve DN Value from LDIF Input

Is there any way to retrieve the dn value of an entry with the LDIF Input Step? LDIF Input retrieves all of the attributes, but the dn is the entry name itself, not an attribute of the entry. I could probably write a script to copy the dn value in the file to another attribute but that is a PITA.

    Hi Sam,

let's consider the following sample grabbed some where in the net :-)

    dn: cn=John E Doe, o=University of High
    er Learning, c=US
    cn: John E Doe
    cn: John Doe
    objectclass: person
    sn: Doe

You want to retrieve the distinguished name "cn=John E Doe, o=University of High"?
If the answer is yes, i will reply that this feature is missing until now...but easy to add.

    So i created a jira :

    http://jira.pentaho.com/browse/PDI-2652

    Default That's it.

That's exactly the feature I'm looking for. Thanks. I'll watch the jira.

Default Access to DN is missed in LDAP input, too

Kettle - Spoon Stable Release - 4.2.1 doesn't have access to DN in LDAP Input.

Access to DN is absolutely necessary when you deal with LDAP.

    1) DN is the only unique id of records in LDAP. There are no other unique ids in LDAP.
    2) DN is the only way to identify hierarchy dependencies between nodes in LDAP

Absence of DN in LDAP input is a stopper to adopt Kettle in our organization.

Please include this feature to LDAP Input also.
