Default Can't Publish From Schema Workbench or Aggregation Designer

I'm a new user and this is my first post. This is probably a simple configuration issue, but it's really slowing me down moving forward with the BI platform.

I'm able to create cube designs in Schema Workbench and view them in the Aggregation Designer. However, I cannot publish them from either application, getting this error message:

    "Publish Error: Connection refused: connect"

The ROLAP tables are actually stored in a SQL Server 2005 default instance (AdventureWorks example), and I'm using the default MySQL DB for the BI platform repository. I assume that I should be publishing cube metadata to this mySQL database? I've had the same issue with 3.0ga and 3.5rc1.

    Any help greatly appreciated!

Some additional information. This is a standalone installation on Windows XP Professional SP3. As a quick workaround to overcome "driver not found" issues, I have copied any needed driver JAR files to these folders:

    C:\Program Files\pentaho\design-tools\schema-workbench\drivers
    C:\Program Files\pentaho\design-tools\agg-designer\drivers

    My server URL is: http://localhost:8080/pentaho/
    Publish Password: root

    Pentaho Credentials:
    User: admin
    Password: root

I believe that I may have found a solution in this link:

    http://jira.pentaho.com/browse/PMD-509

In Metadata editor in the security (Tools->Security), the service URL of the installer version defaults to:

    http://localhost:8080/pentaho/ServiceAction

This is incorrect, even for a default. The default should be (for the installer version):

    http://localhost:18080/pentaho/ServiceAction

Using port 18080 instead of 8080 appears to allow me to publish from both tools.

I have now run into an identical issue found here:

    http://forums.pentaho.org/showthread.php?p=219555

Is anyone using SQL Server 2005 to publish to?
