    Lightbulb Install Pentaho BI server 3.5 in remote server

    Hi Community,

    Anybody know, how can I install Pentaho BI server 3.5 in remote server?. I have web hosting (based on Linux), It's no a dedicated server. Which steps I need to do to get the Pentaho User Console and Administration Console and unload in web hosting?, to share the platform through Internet (remote access).

    Thanks in advance,
    Luis

    Luis,

    I'm assuming you have some hosting and you would like to run Pentaho BI Server off it.

    For the server:

    • Change the base-url parameter under the web.xml file (/tomcat/webapps/pentaho/WEB-INF/web.xml) i.e.:

    Code:
    <param-value>base-url</param-value>
    <param-value>http://000.000.000.000:8080/pentaho/</param-value>
    For the admin console:

    • Change the TrustedIpAddrs parameter under the same file (web.xml) so that it includes your domain/ip address i.e.:

    Code:

    <param-name>TrustedIpAddrs</param-name>
    <param-value>127.0.0.1,000.000.000.000</param-value>

    Thanks Pgraju for your comment,

    I am looking at your blog and there a good explanation about it. Just for start, what file I need to upload in my web server. All of file into the "biserver-ce" folder and all of file into the "administration-console" folder. Where do you recomend me save this folder?. mywebadress.com/server/biserver-ce and mywebadress.com/server/administration-console. If I have all of file uploaded in my web server, I don't need to run the following file start-pentaho and start-pac. The technical specification of my web server is linux web hosting. It isn't a host dedicated. The IP is dinamic. I could set up the:

    <param-value>http://000.000.000.000:8080/pentaho/</param-value>

    with

    <param-value>http://mywebadress.com:8080/pentaho/</param-value>

    As your blog's comment.

    Into the web server, I have a MySQL server how can set up the Configuring JDBC Security.

    <!-- This is only for Hypersonic. Please update this section for any other database you are using -->
    <bean id="dataSource"
    class="org.springframework.jdbc.datasource.DriverManagerDataSource">
    <property name="driverClassName" value="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver" />
    <property name="url"
    value="jdbc:mysql://mywebadress.com:3306/hibernate" />
    <property name="username" value="hibuser" />
    <property name="password" value="password" />
    </bean>

    The ports in all of case are the same for pentaho BI server 8080, for pentaho AC 8099 and for JDBC 3306.

    Thanks for advance,

    Luis
