RSS in jira

Hi, just a quick oddity i noticed, there are no RSS feeds for the searches in jira.. Have these been explicitly disabled?

Our internal jira seems to have them, but i dont know if it's something that is standard or not? We're slightly newer - 3.13.4 so maybe it's new? Although not according to the release notes

I think you need to set that up? From what I know theres an XML link at the top that you can use for the RSS. And you may have to authenticate it by adding os_username=***&os_password=YYY to the url. Hope this makes sense.

We had to disable RSS a couple years ago when we realized that custom fields that were secured at the form level were still being shown in the RSS feed. We were hoping for JRA-1330 or at least JRA-4616 would fix the issue. It appears that this will not be the case. We have a plan to manually scrub the customer info from our JIRA DB and open up the RSS giving us the ability to have JIRA data shared with the wiki and external dashboards. It hasn't been a priority since, until now, no one seemed to care. I hope to get to it in the next few months.
