Default PDI 3.2 GA: Problem with Date range end field

    Hi all,

I am working with PDI 3.2.0GA against an MS SQL Server 2000 RDBMS, specifically using the Dimension LookUp / Update step, on a W/X box.

No problem specifying my "date_from" (1900/01/01 00:00:00.000); however when specifying my date_to" to (2199/12/31 23:59:59.999 - which is what the mouse-over help text specifies), it is not working and instead it is sending
    "2200-01-01 00:00:00.000" as my "date_to".

I could work with that date, but in all honestly, I have grown acustomed to using 2199/12/31... as my "last date".

Is this a bug or am I blundering at something obviuos? Is there any work-around to get my date_to = 2199/12/31 23:59:59.999

    Thanks for any assistance provided.

    Kind Regards,

That looks like the sort of thing that would tick me off as well.
I can only guess that SQL Server rounds off the date because it doesn't handle the milliseconds?

    Thanks Matt for the insight...

If in fact MS SQL Server is rounding off the miliseconds, should 't have this been factored in when using that specific DB (ie. as part of the jdbc conection definition)?

Could this date_from and date_to portion of the step be adjusted to allow the user to set a "full" datetime value instead of supplying only the start/end "year"?

Any way around it you can advise?

BTW, I tested with MySQL as the RDBMS and it works the "date_to" works perfectly...(ie.: 2199/12/31 23:59.59999).

Many thanks again for your interest. Kind regards, D.Murray3
