Default using PAC from remote machine

    Hello,

Is there some special setting needed for PAC if I want to access it from a remote machine?

I have installed pentaho on a linux machine and I administer it using ssh.

I can open and use the Pentaho User Console.

But when I try http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8099 the browser says connection timed out.

Is there something else apart from opening the port using iptables?

if I do a sudo iptables -L on my machine I see

ACCEPT tcp -- anywhere anywhere tcp dpt:8099
ACCEPT tcp -- anywhere anywhere tcp dpt:8099
ACCEPT tcp -- anywhere anywhere tcp dpt:8099
ACCEPT tcp -- anywhere anywhere tcp dpt:http-alt
ACCEPT tcp -- anywhere anywhere tcp dpt:8099
ACCEPT tcp -- anywhere anywhere tcp dpt:8099
ACCEPT tcp -- anywhere anywhere tcp dpt:8099
ACCEPT tcp -- anywhere anywhere tcp dpt:8099
ACCEPT tcp -- anywhere anywhere tcp dpt:8099
ACCEPT tcp -- anywhere anywhere tcp dpt:8099

You need to make sure you have your pentaho server's root directory mapped to your remote client. Also, make sure you have added your ip address as a trusted domain to your servers web.xml file.
