Default Problem occuring in 'insert/update' output

    Hi All,
    I am using pentaho 3.0
I have a table bug_details where I keep all the informations about the bug. Information like the bug_id,submit_time,severity,summary,description,assign_to,last_updated...
From this table I designed another table 'bugs_status' having fields (days, severity, submit, open, close).
To populate this table I am using three transformations.
    1. To populate the (days,status,submit).
    2. To populate (days,status,open).
    3. To populate (days,status,close).
In the transformation in the output I am using 'insert/update'.
Say I run the transformation for close first
So I have the table like this
    days severity submit open close
    2010-06-01 Fatal 6
    2010-06-01 Serious 10

Then I run the transformation for open
    days severity submit open close
    2010-06-01 Fatal 6
    2010-06-01 Serious 10
    2010-06-01 Minor 20
    2010-06-01 Cosmetic 15

Then I run the transformation for submit
Then I run the transformation for open
    days severity submit open close
    2010-06-01 Fatal 4 6
    2010-06-01 Serious 7 10
    2010-06-01 Minor 5 20
    2010-06-01 Cosmetic 10 15

So what I did to fill all the fields I put zeros where no value is there.
So my table is like this
    days severity submit open close
    2010-06-01 Fatal 4 0 6
    2010-06-01 Serious 7 0 10
    2010-06-01 Minor 5 20 0
    2010-06-01 Cosmetic 10 15 0
But later when out of 20 minor bugs some bugs are closed. say 5 bugs. So, the table should like this

    days severity submit open close
    2010-06-01 Fatal 4 0 6
    2010-06-01 Serious 7 0 10
    2010-06-01 Minor 5 15 3
    2010-06-01 Cosmetic 10 15 0
But the problem, this is not happening. After I run the transformation the total minor bugs open in 06-01 is still 20 not 15.
I did not find any clue why it is happening.

    Please help me regarding this.
Any kind of help from anybody is greatly appreciated.

I dont fully understand your issue, especially the last bit. As far as I know Insert/Update step just insert or update what ever value you pass to the step. It wont do any calculation. Sof if few bugs are closed then you should subtract that value from the existing open count before you reach the insert/update step.

Is that put some light on your problem? or attach your etl job.

    Shouldn't be 2010-06-01 Minor 5 15 5?

Well i did not fully understand your problem either, where did the data come from?
