Default multiple 4.0 di servers using tomcat

We are running version 4.0 Data Integration Server (DI) on a Suse Linux server. I have a need to run multiple DI servers on the same host. In version 3 you could run additional carte.sh processes with a different port number. Does anyone know how to do this using TOMCAT?

    Thanks.

When you say "DI Server", do you mean the Enterprise version?

Yes this is EE version. This is the download we installed.

I don't use the DI/EE version, but with Tomcat there is a server.xml (non-rpm install version assumed) that has the port values for everything used by tomcat (i.e. search for '8080' and you should get the http-connector).

You can install multiple instances of tomcat (full instance), and modify the server.xml to include an additional 10000 per node (node 1 is 10000, node 2 add 20000, node 3 add 30000....).

Make sure you get ALL the active ports, otherwise you get conflicts.

Another approach is to have the server/OS setup to support multiple IP addresses, and have the multiple tomcat instances bind to a specific IP address (instead of 0.0.0.0, one of the actual IP addresses). This generally is easier to support than the above - what I call 'port mangling'.
