Thread: Is the Sorting order maintained, even if stream passes several Database Lookups

Default Is the Sorting order maintained, even if stream passes several Database Lookups

    Hi,

This might be an unnecessary Question.

I have a 01.Table Output, where the SQL has an "ORDER BY" clause, which is order by the Key used later in a "Merged join".

    Step 02, 03, 04... Are "Database Lookups"

Then the DataStream enters a "Merged join".

At this point can I be 100% that the Stream is still sorted the way it left the 01.Table Output?

I know when you change the "Nr of copies" of the "Database Lookups", the order changes. But they are all just having 1 copy started.
It seems that the Stream is sorted, but some times 1 out 20 I think I get irregularities. Could this be the case? Should one always have an extra "Sort Step" before a Join?

    Can this be?
    Thanks for any comment, Thorsten

    Yes.
