    Default Problem with DataBase sharing

    I'm using Kettle v.3.2.0-GA and I'm trying to share my connection informations so I can change it in the kettle.properties. To do this I'm working with variables, as explained in kettle's manual. Everything is working fine, except for one thing:

    in Kettle.properties I have:

    host = 0.0.0.1
    host_name = \folder\folder2\DBname.FDB (it's a Firebird database)
    port = 000
    user = userName
    password = x

    When I put all this datas above directly in Spoon, everyting works smoothly. But, when I put through variables (${variable}), just the host_name doesn't work, especially, I believe, because of the '\', since with a 'normal' name (without a path) it works just fine.

    Can someone put a light on it? How can I solve this?

    Try replacing the "\" with "/"
    and (just in case) removing all spaces before and after the "="

    The error information is the following:

    Problem solved. The solution is to put double backslash:

    host_name=\\folder\\folder2.....

    And - don't forget - when you change a variable value in Kettle's properties it will only works when you restart Spoon.
