Default Free Open Source Google Analytics Plugin

    Hi everyone,

I have developed an Open Source Google Analytics plugin for Kettle, that allows you to easily get data from Google Analytics using Google's Export API. I understand the enterprise edition has something similar, but since I need to work with the community edition of Kettle I figured I create an open source plugin that serves the purpose.

There are plugin versions for both Kettle 3.2.x and 4.0.x. If you'd like to take a look, grab it here:

    http://type-exit.org/adventures-with...in-for-kettle/

It is simple to use: just provide the credentials and the query parameters and hit the "Get Fields" button. Keep the fields you want, delete the ones you are not interested in, maybe make some adjustments to the output formats, and you're set.

Should you like the plugin, I'd ask you to consider making a donation

    Cheers

    Slawo

    Hi everyone,

based on the feedback I got from some users, I've updated the plugin to include a preview button and the possibility to set a limit for the rows it will produce.

Get the latest version from the plugin page:

    http://type-exit.org/adventures-with...in-for-kettle/

Since the new version is entirely backwards compatible you can simply replace the folder in your plugin/steps folder to use it. No further adjustments necessary.

BTW: does anyone know whether the email address communityconnection@pentaho.org is stil active? I tried to contact the community guys like 10 days ago to include the plugin on the wiki page at http://wiki.pentaho.com/display/EAI/...ation+Plug-Ins
but got no response so far.

    Cheers

    Hi Slawo,

Thanks for all your hard work, you're really putting out a lot of great stuff out there.
Also, you can edit that wiki page yourself (in true Wiki spirit) if you create an account. If you have a problem with that let me know and I'll chip in.

    Regards,
    Matt

    Thanks Matt,

I was not aware of the possibility to get an account on the wiki. I've added the plugin alright

    Cheers
