Question Different header layout in a positional file

    Hello everyone,

I'm facing a challenge and I'm doing some tries all without success.
I have a positional file which has a header with a different layout. It looks like this:

    header:
    xxxxxxyyyyy

    Body:
    aaaaaaaabbcc
    aaaaaaaabbcc
    ...

What I'm trying to do is read the header in a first transformation and pass as variables to a second transformation of a Job. I put a "Set Variable" at the end of 1st tranformation, set the scope to "parent job" and read only the first row of stream. In the 2nd transfomation I put a "Get Variables" on the first step but it seems that has no value.
Is there a simpler approach to solve the mixed layout problem in a positional file?

    Thanks,
    Yuri.

That should work. It would help if you can attach your work.
Besides, there is no a single way to handle this. If the structure and the tasks to do are not complicated, you can even handle everything in the same transformation.
