Default Categorising entries in a log file...

    Hi,

I need to categorise errors in a log file - it's pretty simple, if the line contains X then it's this else if it's Y then this, except there are about 30 different cases!

Is there a cunning way to do this without the mother of all "if then else" conditions in a javascript step?

I wondered about e.g. a regex match on a string in the switch case, but no

    Thanks,
    dan

I think you can enter 30 validations in the "Data Validator" step. Then you'll get 30 possible error codes to "Switch/Case" on.

Or perhaps this is a possible use case for the new "Rule Executor" step. This is basically a Drools step so it should be possible to put the rules in there.

    Hi,

Is the "Rules Executor" step already implemented\started?

It appeared first in version 4.1 but I think it's still a bit experimental.

Can someone please post a usage example.

I am trying to define my own rules file but still getting errors...
