Thread: Run transformation as if it were another day

Default Run transformation as if it were another day

    Hi,

I have a transformation filling a dimension using the dimension L/U step. This works fine and fills the warehouse correctly.
Now I have a year of database copies that I need to process into the data warehouse. I did a few copies and noticed that the date_from in the records that change and get inserted is set to "today" when I need it to be set to the day of the database copy.

Spent a while playing with the transformation settings dates and the replay date but couldn't get it to work.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Regards, Joe

You probably want the Dim L/U option "Stream Datefield" and setting it to the date of the DB Snapshot... But I recall that there are issues with this option.

Just did a quick test and worked fine.
Do you remember what type of issues I may run into?

In any case, thank you very much for your help :-)

    Search the forum and Jira.
They may have been fixed... Or I could be confusing it with the Alternate Start Date.

There are some really knowledgeable people on the board - they might comment to point out issues with it too.

I did search. There seemed to be some error that was fixed a while ago. I did another few tests and it seems to be working correctly.
I will report back when I finish.

    Thanks
