Default How to make pentaho memory free while runtime

    Hi,
we identify that pentaho is consuming lot of memory when jobs are scheduled to run continuously. i want to know is there any option to make pentaho memory free explicitly.
    please help on this.

    Thanks,

    Default Hi

We scheduled the jobs to be run daily for every 30 minutes interval for trail purpose. when it is running day by day the process is getting slow.finally it will end with java heap space error or it will hang. Client is monitoring the pentaho functionality, so we have to come up with some solution for this or they will go out of pentaho. Can someone advice me on this please. is there any way to make memory consumption by pentaho is free.

    Thanks,
    Devanand

Well, I am not sure where this is going, but here is my two cents.
Try to restart the pentaho as often as you can. Well, at least all memory will be released when it shuts down, and a fresh start will certainly requires a minimal amount of memory .

    Best wishes

We are seeing same problem here.
    I found http://jira.pentaho.com/browse/PDI-5502
    http://jira.pentaho.com/browse/PDI-5469

    http://jira.pentaho.com/browse/PDI-10762

Someone tested the 5.1 version to see if memory is released properly now?

Did someone tried the solution proposed in http://jira.pentaho.com/browse/PDI-5502 to limit the number of log lines in memory?
