Default Export and Import with 4.1 fails

    Hi folks,
I didn't see a bug report related to this, but I can't imagine, I'm the first person running in to this issue.
Seems others reported similar symptoms. Some guessed: It's probably a database issue. Probably partially true, but it's not dependent on the underlying database engine, because I tried several of them. Same behaviour. So there seems to be a differenc between a link from a job to an existing transformation and the explore/open feature with selecting a transformation from the explorer! Sounds weird, but ...
There are two posts, which sound for me very well related to my observations, for example:
    http://forums.pentaho.com/showthread...rmation-in-job

I exported my repository from postgres 8.4 to an XML file.
I imported it on an other machine to MySQL, also to postgres 9 and 8.4.
All the time the link from a transformation icon within a job to the transformation itsself is not working. I can open the transformation, when I use File-Open.
But I can't open it from a job.
When I create a new transformation icon - selecting an existing one, also this one does not open from the job.
    The error message from this:
    java.lang.NullPointerException

I played around as you can see from my above log.
I decided to use PDI 401 to redo the import.
    Here everything works fine.
I used the same xml file, so the export from 41 is not the root cause.
    Cheers,
    Alexander

I didn't see a bug report related to this,
So, why didn't you create a new one?

I think the issue you're talking about was already reported. Is this what you are seeing?

Hi Debbie, Absolutely right. It's just the same behaviour, BUT I'm using the reference within the repository, not file based.

@Matt - Sorry to be so lazy, but I wasn't registered with JiRA and therefor couldn't figure out, how to report a bug.
But you're right - I found the registration page. But to be honest: It took a while, until I found it. Not very user friendly and why is it not possible to use the same credentials - why not SSO?
    The bug is reported under:
    http://jira.pentaho.com/browse/PDI-5386
    Cheers, Alexander
