Thread: Strange String->Date Conversion Problem

    Default Strange String->Date Conversion Problem

    I have some transformations that use a Select Values step to change the metavalue of a field from String to Date.

    On March 13th, this step started to fail with the following error:

    2011/03/15 15:15:40 - Convert to DateTime Type.0 - ERROR (version 4.0.1-stable, build 13826 from 2010-08-26 14.18.03 by buildguy) : LMD-DT1 String(100) : couldn't convert string [2011/03/13 02:00:08.000] to a date using format [yyyy/MM/dd HH:mm:ss.SSS]
    2011/03/15 15:15:40 - Convert to DateTime Type.0 - ERROR (version 4.0.1-stable, build 13826 from 2010-08-26 14.18.03 by buildguy) : Unparseable date: "2011/03/13 02:00:08.000"

    I don't see anything wrong with the subject string...

    The strange part:

    1.) I have other transforms that do the exact same thing without error.
    2.) The step that does fail, only fails for strings starting with 2011/03/13. March 12th goes in fine, as does March 14th.

    Do I have a corrupt batch of transforms? What can I do to restore functionality?

    What time zone are you in?
    2011/03/13 02:00:08.000 doesn't exist in my time zone, so perhaps it's getting mad because it doesn't exist there either.

    We went: 01:59:59 PST -> 03:00:00 PDT

    I didn't even think of DST. That must be it. I'll be back after I figure it out.

    Thanks a ton!

    I have confirmed DST was the cause of this problem. Once I compensated for the hour shift ahead, things went back to normal.
