    Unhappy Unable to connect Pentaho CE with Oracle.

    Hi,

    I need to establish communication with oracle 10 g to generate reports/analysis views but i am struggling to establish the connectivity.

    I want to do basic operations including authentication etc from hsql db and want to load a Cube/Catalog from Oracle.

    Steps followed are:

    1. modified datasources.xml to add new catalog definition :
    <Catalog name="POCPyramid">
    <DataSourceInfo>Provider=mondrian;DataSource=POCPyramid</DataSourceInfo>
    <Definition>solution:steel-wheels/analysis/POCPyramid.xml</Definition>
    </Catalog>
    2. modified jdbc.properties file to add following:
    POCPyramid/type=javax.sql.DataSource
    POCPyramid/driver=oracle.jdbc.JdbcOdbcDriver
    POCPyramid/url=jdbcracle:thin:@10.4.4.230:1521:PyramidDW
    POCPyramid/user=dwh
    POCPyramid/password=dwh

    But after I make all these changes and try to execute analysis view it throws below error:
    ERROR [MondrianCatalogHelper] MondrianCatalogHelper.ERROR_0013 - Failed to load schema solution:steel-wheels/analysis/POCPyramid.xml
    Caused by: java.io.FileNotFoundException: Resource not found: [steel-wheels/analysis/POCPyramid.xml]

    The schema file do exists at the specified location.
    Can someone please help me in this regard as this is very high priority. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,
    Ashok

    Assuming you are using the Pentaho User Console to generate the reports/analysis views, here are some steps to try:
    Make sure that steel-wheels/analysis/POCPyramid.xml has the correct permissions for which ever user is running the PUC.
    Refresh the various caches and suchlike:
    Name:  refresh.JPG
Views: 39
Size:  13.9 KB
    Verify that the datasource is editable in the PUC

    These different steps may not help directly, but if they give you some additional errors, please post them up and we can use them to continue the debugging process.

    Thanks Khelms!

    Apologies for responding late. The erros I mentioned got resolved. The problem was with oracle DB. I droped the schema and re-created. It worked.

    Thanks!
    Ashok
