    Default Clean urls

    Hi all!
There is a way to implement a clean urls service to make more user-readable a direct link to report or analysis in Pentaho BI server?
    With mod_rewrite? How?
In a intranet can't access to external url shortening services.
Eg to send via mail a usable link referring to:

    http://myhostname:8080/pentaho/Home?name=Produzione Ricover..&startup-url=%2Fpentaho%2FViewAction%3Fsolution%3DRicoveri%26path%3D%26action%3DProduzione+Ricoveri+2010.analysisview.xaction

    like http://myhostname:8080/pentaho/PR2010

    or similar

    Thanks in advance

    Enrico

    Hi Enrico,

first: I do not think, that such functionality is present in the BI distribution.
BUT: I found this project: http://code.google.com/p/urlrewritefilter/
Here, you might be able to add this UrlFilter Stuff to the deployed BI Tomcat-server and then add some filter-rules to "shorten" your URLs...

    Hope this helps,

    Tom

    Thanks Tom, that's sound good.
    I can see 2 problems:
    - define a clean URL scheme
    - get a clean deep-link from the biserver

and i'm not so deep in biserver or so good in java...

If you use Apache or IIS as front end for Tomcat, then you can use their URL rewrite rules. You can then connect your tomcat to these servers via the "JK native webserver connector". This then even allows you to have several separate instances that can be accessed from one HTTP frontend.
