Thread: Dynamic Content in SNMP Trap Message

Default Dynamic Content in SNMP Trap Message

    Hi All,

Is it possible to return values (such as numrows) in the SNMP trap message? The trap works fine for static content - but it would be helpful to return something more specific to the monitoring system.

    (v 4.1.0)

    Thanks,

    David

Have you had any luck looking into this? I'm after the exact same thing but have had no joy as yet.

Here is what I found... The step does send the trap - but in Zenoss it always showed a source of 0.0.0.0 which was another problem for me. What I ended up doing is using the shell script step and calling my trap from the snmptrap command on the host. That gave me a usable solution. I haven't gotten back to the dynamic content (Zenoss was easy enough to define in the interface that it was more effort than it was worth for me to investigate (for now))... Hope that helps,

    DB
