    Default infoStreams

    I wanted to give the inputstep selector in the ui a default value
    equal to the stepname of the first input step
    When the following line is run, i get an Index: 0, Size: 0
    wRowOrigin[j].setText(Const.NVL(infoStreams.get(0).getStepname(),
    ""));

    Can someone explain me how/where the initialization is done.
    I looked at the MergeJoin step

    Hi Gunter,

    In your *Meta class you should create a StepIOMetaInterface object in:

    public StepIOMetaInterface getStepIOMeta();

    You can look at the sample in MergeJoinMeta.

    This work determines the popup-message in the UI when you create a new hop,
    the icon, ...

    Good luck!

    Matt

    Matt,

    Thanks, i could eliminate the error.
    However in the example StreamType is set to info.

    Could you explqin the differences/consequences of each of the
    StreamTypes.
    public enum StreamType {
    INPUT, OUTPUT, INFO, TARGET, ERROR,
    };

    If you're reading from specific steps, you're dealing with INFO streams.
    If you're writing to specific target steps, you're using TARGET streams.

    We decided not to handle INPUT/OUTPUT/ERROR through this system... yet :-)

    Cheers,
    Matt
