Hi everybody,

I have problems setting up the Foodmart demo. I'm running Linux ubuntu-pu03 2.6.38-11-generic, Apache Tomcat 6.0.28, mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.1.54, for debian-linux-gnu (i686) using readline 6.2

I try to follow the documentation at http://mondrian.pentaho.com/document...stallation.php

With some work on jars and the classpath, the database setup under chapter 2 worked without error. Tomcat and mysql are up and running. Nevertheless, tomcat reports under http://localhost:8080/mondrian "the requested resource (/mondrian) is not available.

Maybe it is related to the instructions in chapter 3:

  • Points 2/3: Point 2 in the enumeration states to update mondrian.properties. Point 3 states to update the connect strings in web.xml. But the example given in Point 3 (the string to be changed) is not included in web.xml. Instead, it seems to be the string included in mondrian.properties. Could someone confirm the changes that are necessary?

  • Point 5 states to change lines in, e.g., fourhier.jsp But the example line in the documentation is different from the one in the file: it has an additional jdbcUser="sa" jdbcPassword="sa" connectionPooling="false Do I need to keep/modify that?
  • Point 6 states "If needed, copy your JDBC driver JAR to TOMCAT_HOME/common/endorsed" (i) Do I need that in my case (with the settings as above). (ii) Shouldn't that be "TOMCAT_HOME/endorsed" instead?

Thanks for your help.
