    Default Kettle Doesn't start

    Hi,

    I'm working in Win2003 Server R2 (32bits) and JRE 1.6.27.

    When i launch spoon.bat (pdi-ce-4.1.0-stable.zip) nothing happens.

    I launch report-designer.bat (prd-ce-3.7.0-stable.zip) and it's work.

I tried some of the things on this forum but nothing works.

    Please help me.

    thanks.

    Hi Mick.

    No errors show.

What can I do to show the error or a log ?

I assume you've unzipped the entire data-integration directory to someplace on your PC, correct?

    Yes. --> D:\PENTAHO\data-integration

In other hand, I unzipped the entire data-integration directory in other PC and it's works.

Does anything at all happen when you try to open spoon, do you even get the windows command window that opens up before the actual Spoon application? If it works on a different PC, I suspect that you do not have a java_home environment variable setup.

In both servers shows the Windows command window, but one open Kettle and the other not.

The java_home environment variable is set to "C:\Archivos de programa\Java\jre6"

I try with Report Designer 3.7.0 Stable in the same PC and it's works.

Try copying the JRE folder into your ...\Data-Integration directory.

    You could try this :

Open a new Command Prompt (Start->Run and enter "cmd")
Navigate to the PDI directory, e.g. "chdir /d D:\PENTAHO\data-integration"
Enter "Spoon.bat" which should try to launch Spoon.

There may be some useful debug messages in the output.

    Cheers,
    Paul
