Default Error: "No statements may be issued when any streaming result sets are open"

    Hello,

thank you for a great software!
I would need some help with an issue appearing in the latest stable 4.2.0 release:

When opening a mysql table I get the following error when trying to preview the data.
When setting up the database connection it tells me "ok":

    Code:
    2011/10/11 09:38:07 - DBCONNECTION - ERROR (version 4.2.0-stable, build 15748 from 2011-09-08 13.11.42 by buildguy) : ERROR executing query: org.pentaho.di.core.exception.KettleDatabaseException:
    2011/10/11 09:38:07 - DBCONNECTION - ERROR (version 4.2.0-stable, build 15748 from 2011-09-08 13.11.42 by buildguy) : Error getting row information from database:
2011/10/11 09:38:07 - DBCONNECTION - ERROR (version 4.2.0-stable, build 15748 from 2011-09-08 13.11.42 by buildguy) : Streaming result set com.mysql.jdbc.RowDataDynamic@98126d is still active. No statements may be issued when any streaming result sets are open and in use on a given connection. Ensure that you have called .close() on any active streaming result sets before attempting more queries.
    does anyone have an idea?

    Thanx in advance!
    Cheers Björn

It's just a result from killing the database query. If you have plenty of memory you can disable result stream emulation.

I am having this same issue after we upgraded to a new data integration server. The old server works fine with the exact same query; the new server errors out with a similar error to the one above 'No statements may be issued when any streaming result sets are open and in use...' There are no other active connections to the MySQL instance. I have checked.

We upgraded from PDI 4.1.2 GA to PDI 4.2.1 GA. Does anyone know if others have encountered this issue with the latest release?

Certain MySQL database versions react badly to version 5.1 of the MySQL JDBC driver. So downgrade it to 3.1 (the one found in PDI 4.1).
