Default We failed to initialize at least one step Error

I have just upgraded from pdi 3.2 to 4.2. We run a data load every 5 minutes, via kitchen, and use MySql 5.1 as our database. We have been running on 3.2 for over a year without any issues but since we have switched we have twice received the following (full stack trace below):

    Code:
Unable to prepare (allocate, initialize) the execution of the mapping (sub-transformation)

We failed to initialize at least one step. Execution can not begin!
In both cases a table input step selected 0 rows to be load and the server was under little load at the time. Also, in both cases the error happened on Mapping steps.

Any ideas why this is happening? Is it 4.2 related?

    Thanks in advance.

yes its relating to 4.2 as somehow in PDI 4.2 dimension lookup/update step are having some changes which are not present in 3.2 please check this step as this step is creating problem as per your log
